Cheers As Pedo Pell Loses Appeal of Six-Year Sentence

Cardinal George Pell is escorted in handcuffs from the supreme court back to jail after the court rejected his appeal against convictions for child sexual abuse. Photograph: William West/AFP/Getty Images C ardinal  George Pell  cut a dishevelled figure as he stepped into Melbourne’s supreme court and took his seat in the dock, flanked by two police officers. His hair had grown long, a large bald patch showing through, and he wore all black, a pop of white showing from his clerical collar. Prison has taken its toll. He had hoped to walk free from the building on Wednesday morning. Three appellant judges swiftly shattered that hope as their decision was delivered as to whether 12 jurors were unreasonable in convicting him for sexually abusing two 13-year-old choirboys in 1996 when he was the archbishop of  Melbourne . Cardinal George Pell's conviction: the questions that remain Read more Within seconds of the chief justice, Anne Ferguson, the president of

No Birth Mothers Need Apply

by Irish First Mothers   Irish women whose infants were stolen by the State and Church apparatus are not concerned over their privacy rights . We are concerned for our Human Rights . We were sidelined when our babies were stolen. We are an afterthought today in a Bill framed entirely around the adopted person. What has changed? As victims of a State-sanctioned regime, we want UNREDACTED access to all files used in these mass scale, practices which were illegal and still-unprosecuted genocide, under the ICC Act, 2006.  We oppose this rush to legislate BEFORE the Commission of Investigation reports.  We are adults . Our stolen children are now adults. We want no part of the widely discredited Tusla system. We do not see ourselves as a new "market" for ineffective and already overburdened State services.  We are simply exercising an FOI human right to the unredacted files which will help us find the truth of our lives and rebuild our sundered family bonds -without

PR GURU TERRY PRONE'S OFFICES AMONG THREE SITES TARGETED BY TUAM BABIES PROTESTERS T uam babies protesters on Easter Monday targeted the Dublin 4, 'Communications Clinic' offices of PR guru Terry Prone . The Tuam Home Survivors Network says Ms. Prone is enriching herself by representing religious orders now found to have lied to a Commission of Investigation. "Terry Prone is helping spin lies by nuns who are making fools of us all," says group member, Anthony Fennell . "You can call it 'spin', but it's lies." The Tuam survivor and relatives group wants Ms. Prone to cease acting for religious orders. Earlier today the group held a protest action at the offices of the North Galway coroner, Dr Val Costello , in Headford, County Galway. "The coroner, Dr Val Costello despite the discovery of human remains in 2016 has has still not convened an inquest," said Kevin Higgins a barrister member of the group who represen

We have a mythologised history of the religious-run Institutions as told by the Cult, the clerics who spoon-fed us their mythologised history of their Religious Run Institutions.  Uncovering The Cults' massacre of unwed Mothers and their Children must now be a top priority. Slowly, gently even, we must scrape away the dirt, raw sewage and the Cults lies of decades, from human bones, the remains of innocent women and their vulnerable children.   Tangled with the remains, are shreds of pain, rape, brutality, bruised clothes and the rotten mould of unnamed children’s leather shoes. The mass graves at all Religious run Institutions in Ireland, must be rediscovered, DNA'd and reburied in proper graves. A  crime is an act that constitutes a serious violation of the law that gives rise to individual criminal responsibility. The individual criminal responsibility must now apply to all the Nuns, Priests and Religious Brothers that ran the Religious Institutions in Ireland.
